Every aspect of your life influences your state of wellbeing. Wellbeing is linked to happiness and how you feel about yourself and your life. Good mental health, a sense of meaning or purpose and ability to manage stress are considerations for you to experience health, happiness and prosperity.
Today we are more often time poor which leads to unavoidable stress which in turn can deepen into emotional liability and mental fatigue. Time appears filled with more activities than ever before with high expectations at work, family and friendship commitments. Updating our social media, tweets, insta and even scanning our endless emails, we are cramming everything in at lightening speed and this can cause you to become hyper-stimulated and elevates stress levels. Take the time to still your mind – unplug, take a 15-30 minute break and do nothing, listen to your favourite music or go for a brisk walk. Clearing your mind will help to lower stress which will allow you to think clearer and is great for brain health!
Being present and paying more attention can also help to improve your mental wellbeing. This awareness is often referred to as ‘mindfulness’. Mindfulness includes your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you and can positively change the way you feel about life.
Become physically active, not only is it great for your physical health and fitness, it can also improve your mental wellbeing by raising your self-esteem, help you to set goals & challenges and can even cause chemical changes in your brain to change your mood positively.
